New! Plugin Severity Now Using CVSS v3

The calculated severity for Plugins has been updated to use CVSS v3 by default. Plugins that do not have a CVSS v3 score will fall back to CVSS v2 for calculating severity. Severity display preferences can be toggled in the settings dropdown.

The remote name server is affected by a denial of service vulnerability.

The version of ISC BIND installed on the remote host is affected by a denial of service (DoS) vulnerability in rbtdb.c due to an assertion failure. An authenticated, remote attacker can exploit this issue, to cause a DoS condition.

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version

Upgrade to ISC BIND version 9.11.19-S9 / 9.11.20 / 9.14.13 / 9.16.4 or later
