medium Nessus Plugin ID 137555

Synopsis

The remote Ubuntu host is missing a security-related patch.

Description

It was discovered that NSS incorrectly handled the TLS State Machine.
A remote attacker could possibly use this issue to cause NSS to hang, resulting in a denial of service. This issue only affected Ubuntu 18.04 LTS and Ubuntu 19.10. (CVE-2019-17023)

Note that Tenable Network Security has extracted the preceding description block directly from the Ubuntu security advisory. Tenable has attempted to automatically clean and format it as much as possible without introducing additional issues.
