New! Vulnerability Priority Rating (VPR)
Tenable calculates a dynamic VPR for every vulnerability. VPR combines vulnerability information with threat intelligence and machine learning algorithms to predict which vulnerabilities are most likely to be exploited in attacks. Read more about what VPR is and how it's different from CVSS.
VPR Score: 3.6
Synopsis
The remote host is affected by an information disclosure vulnerability.
Description
The remote host is running a version of FortiOS prior to 5.6.11, 6.0.x prior to 6.0.7, or 6.2.x prior to 6.2.2. It is, therefore, affected by an information disclosure vulnerability. The vulnerability exists in the storage of private keys and certificates due to improper value checking or permissions. A non-privileged, local attacker can exploit this via the CLI by unsetting a private key's encryption password for builtin system certificates or setting a blank password for user uploaded certificates. The attacker can use this to disclose plaintext private keys.
Solution
Upgrade to Fortinet FortiOS version to 5.6.11, 6.0.9, 6.2.2 or later.
