Synopsis

The remote device is missing a vendor-supplied security patch

Description

According to its self-reported version, Cisco IOS XE Software is affected by a vulnerability in the Zone-Based Firewall due to the way fragmented packets in the firewall code. An unauthenticated, remote attacker can exploit this by sending fragmented IP Version 4 or IP Version 6 packets through an affected device, causing the device to crash.
