Description

The remote NewStart CGSL host, running version CORE 5.04 / MAIN 5.04, has perl-Archive-Tar packages installed that are affected by a vulnerability:

- In Perl through 5.26.2, the Archive::Tar module allows remote attackers to bypass a directory-traversal protection mechanism, and overwrite arbitrary files, via an archive file containing a symlink and a regular file with the same name. (CVE-2018-12015)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade the vulnerable CGSL perl-Archive-Tar packages. Note that updated packages may not be available yet. Please contact ZTE for more information.
