Synopsis

The remote device is missing a vendor-supplied security patch.

Description

According to its self-reported version number, the remote Junos device is affected by a vulnerability in the pluggable authentication module (PAM) of Juniper Networks Junos OS that may allow an unauthenticated network based attacker to potentially execute arbitrary code or crash daemons such as telnetd or sshd that make use of PAM.

Solution

Apply the relevant Junos software release referenced in Juniper advisory JSA10818.
