Synopsis

The remote device is affected by a denial of service vulnerability.

Description

According to its self-reported version and model number, the remote Cisco ASR device is affected by a denial of service vulnerability in StarOS in the IPsec component that is triggered during the handling of specially crafted IKE messages. This may allow a remote attacker to terminate all active IPsec VPN tunnels and prevent new tunnels from establishing.

Solution

Upgrade to the relevant fixed version referenced in Cisco bug ID CSCvc21129.
