Apache CouchDB 1.5.0 and earlier allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (CPU and memory consumption) via the count parameter to /_uuids.

The remote host is affected by the vulnerability described in GLSA-201412-16 (CouchDB: Denial of Service)

    CouchDB does not properly sanitize the count parameter for Universally       Unique Identifiers (UUID) requests.
  Impact :

    A remote attacker could send a specially crafted request to CouchDB,       possibly resulting in a Denial of Service condition.
  Workaround :

    The /_uuids handler can be disabled in local.ini with the following       configuration:

    - CouchDB: silence stdout/stderr to prevent redundant       flooding of /var/log/messages CouchDB already logs       these messages to /var/log/couchdb/couch.log Instead       print the log filename to stdout, in case a user who       ran it from the CLI is confused about where the       messages went.

    - CouchDB: -couch_ini accepts .ini or a .d/ directory.
      For directories it reads any *.ini file. Fixes       #1002277.

This couchdb update fixes one security issue :

  - bnc#871111: Fixed remote denial of service via /_uuids     that allowed remote attackers to cause CPU and memory     consumption.
