The remote OT asset is affected by a vulnerability.

Description

A researcher in the AXIS OS Bug Bounty Program has found that the VAPIX API managedoverlayimages.cgi was vulnerable to a race condition attack enabling an attacker to block access to the overlay configuration page in the web interface of the Axis device.
Exploitation requires prior authentication with an operator- or administrator-privileged service account. Axis has released patched AXIS OS versions for this flaw.

Solution

Upgrade AXIS OS according to the vendor advisory (fixed in 12.1.28 on the active track and 11.11.118 on the 2024 LTS track, among other tracks).
