Mozilla/Firefox Linux Installation Arbitrary File Deletion (deprecated)

Medium Nessus Network Monitor Plugin ID 2345

The remote Firefox browser can be tricked into deleting potentially sensitive files.

The remote host appears to be running Mozilla or Firefox. It is reported that versions up to 0.10.1 of Firefox are prone to an improper file permission issue when bookmarking a 'link'. An attacker crafting a malicious link can cause Firefox to overwrite or delete files within the download directory.

Upgrade or patch according to vendor recommendations.
