Synopsis

A web browser installed on the remote Windows host is affected by a vulnerability.

Description

The version of Google Chrome installed on the remote Windows host is prior to 58.0.3029.96. It is, therefore, affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the 2017_05_stable-channel-update-for-desktop advisory.

- Incorrect handling of picture ID in WebRTC in Google Chrome prior to 58.0.3029.96 for Mac, Windows, and Linux allowed a remote attacker to trigger a race condition via a crafted HTML page. (CVE-2017-5068)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to Google Chrome version 58.0.3029.96 or later.
