Debian DLA-747-1 : libupnp security update

critical Nessus Plugin ID 96008
New! Plugin Severity Now Using CVSS v3

The calculated severity for Plugins has been updated to use CVSS v3 by default. Plugins that do not have a CVSS v3 score will fall back to CVSS v2 for calculating severity. Severity display preferences can be toggled in the settings dropdown.

The remote Debian host is missing a security update.

Scott Tenaglia discovered a heap-based buffer overflow in libupnp, a portable SDK for UPnP Devices. That can lead to denial of service or remote code execution.

For Debian 7 'Wheezy', these problems have been fixed in version 1:1.6.17-1.2+deb7u2.

We recommend that you upgrade your libupnp packages.

NOTE: Tenable Network Security has extracted the preceding description block directly from the DLA security advisory. Tenable has attempted to automatically clean and format it as much as possible without introducing additional issues.

Upgrade the affected packages.
