Synopsis

The remote device is missing a vendor-supplied security patch.

Description

According to its self-reported version number and architecture, the remote Juniper Junos device is affected by a denial of service vulnerability in the 64-bit routing engine. An unauthenticated, remote attacker can exploit this, via a specially crafted UDP packet sent to an interface IP address, to crash the kernel. Note that this vulnerability does not affect 32-bit systems.

Solution

Upgrade to the relevant Junos software release referenced in Juniper advisory JSA10758.
