Medium Nessus Plugin ID 91725

The remote Ubuntu host is missing one or more security-related patches.

Edwin Torok discovered that Dnsmasq incorrectly handled certain CNAME responses. A remote attacker could use this issue to cause Dnsmasq to crash, resulting in a denial of service.

Note that Tenable Network Security has extracted the preceding description block directly from the Ubuntu security advisory. Tenable has attempted to automatically clean and format it as much as possible without introducing additional issues.

Update the affected dnsmasq, dnsmasq-base and / or dnsmasq-utils packages.
