Drupal Unsupported Version Detection

critical Nessus Plugin ID 89684
New! Plugin Severity Now Using CVSS v3

The calculated severity for Plugins has been updated to use CVSS v3 by default. Plugins that do not have a CVSS v3 score will fall back to CVSS v2 for calculating severity. Severity display preferences can be toggled in the settings dropdown.

Synopsis

The remote host is running an unsupported version of Drupal.

Description

According to its self-reported version number, the installation of Drupal running on the remote host is no longer supported.

Lack of support implies that no new security patches for the product will be released by the vendor. As a result, it is likely to contain security vulnerabilities.

Note that several vendors provide Long Term Support (LTS) for Drupal.
If this version of Drupal is an LTS install, consider this finding to be a false positive.

Solution

Upgrade to a version of Drupal that is currently supported.

Alternatively, contact one of the Long Term Support vendors for options.
