New! Vulnerability Priority Rating (VPR)
Tenable calculates a dynamic VPR for every vulnerability. VPR combines vulnerability information with threat intelligence and machine learning algorithms to predict which vulnerabilities are most likely to be exploited in attacks. Read more about what VPR is and how it's different from CVSS.

SynopsisThe remote device is missing a vendor-supplied security patch.
DescriptionAccording to its self-reported version number, the remote Juniper Junos device is affected by a denial of service vulnerability due to a flaw related to the processing of IPv6 packets. An unauthenticated, remote attacker can exploit this, via a specially crafted IPv6 packet, to trigger an 'mbuf' chain corruption, resulting in a kernel panic and a denial of service condition.
Note that this issue only affects devices with IPv6 enabled.
SolutionApply the relevant Junos software release or workaround referenced in Juniper advisory JSA10699.
