Ubuntu 12.04 LTS / 14.04 LTS / 14.10 : libyaml vulnerability (USN-2461-1)

Medium Nessus Plugin ID 80472

The remote Ubuntu host is missing a security-related patch.

Stanislaw Pitucha and Jonathan Gray discovered that LibYAML did not properly handle wrapped strings. An attacker could create specially crafted YAML data to trigger an assert, causing a denial of service.

Note that Tenable Network Security has extracted the preceding description block directly from the Ubuntu security advisory. Tenable has attempted to automatically clean and format it as much as possible without introducing additional issues.

Update the affected libyaml-0-2 package.
