Ubuntu 12.04 LTS / 14.04 LTS / 14.10 : dbus vulnerability (USN-2425-1)

Low Nessus Plugin ID 79621

The remote Ubuntu host is missing one or more security-related patches.

It was discovered that DBus incorrectly handled a large number of file descriptor messages. A local attacker could use this issue to cause DBus to stop responding, resulting in a denial of service.

Note that Tenable Network Security has extracted the preceding description block directly from the Ubuntu security advisory. Tenable has attempted to automatically clean and format it as much as possible without introducing additional issues.

Update the affected dbus and / or libdbus-1-3 packages.
