Ubuntu 14.04 LTS : samba vulnerability (USN-2305-1)

high Nessus Plugin ID 76991

The remote Ubuntu host is missing a security-related patch.

Volker Lendecke discovered that the Samba NetBIOS name service daemon incorrectly handled certain memory operations. A remote attacker could use this issue to execute arbitrary code as the root user.

Note that Tenable Network Security has extracted the preceding description block directly from the Ubuntu security advisory. Tenable has attempted to automatically clean and format it as much as possible without introducing additional issues.

Update the affected samba package.
