SynopsisThe remote Ubuntu host is missing one or more security-related patches.
DescriptionIt was discovered that NSS incorrectly handled wildcard certificates when used with internationalized domain names. If a remote attacker were able to perform a man-in-the-middle attack, this flaw could be exploited to spoof SSL servers.
Note that Tenable Network Security has extracted the preceding description block directly from the Ubuntu security advisory. Tenable has attempted to automatically clean and format it as much as possible without introducing additional issues.
SolutionUpdate the affected libnss3 and / or libnss3-1d packages.
