New! Vulnerability Priority Rating (VPR)
Tenable calculates a dynamic VPR for every vulnerability. VPR combines vulnerability information with threat intelligence and machine learning algorithms to predict which vulnerabilities are most likely to be exploited in attacks. Read more about what VPR is and how it's different from CVSS.

SynopsisThe remote Debian host is missing a security-related update.
DescriptionIvan Fratric of the Google Security Team discovered a heap-based buffer overflow vulnerability in LibYAML, a fast YAML 1.1 parser and emitter library. A remote attacker could provide a specially crafted YAML document that, when parsed by an application using libyaml, would cause the application to crash or, potentially, execute arbitrary code with the privileges of the user running the application.
SolutionUpgrade the libyaml packages.
For the oldstable distribution (squeeze), this problem has been fixed in version 0.1.3-1+deb6u4.
For the stable distribution (wheezy), this problem has been fixed in version 0.1.4-2+deb7u4.
