Fedora 19 : libXv-1.0.9-1.fc19 (2013-11734)

medium Nessus Plugin ID 67321

Synopsis

The remote Fedora host is missing a security update.

Description

Ensure the attribute's name is always null-terminated and points to valid memory. Otherwise, if an integer overflow (CVE-2013-1989) triggers, the returned buffer pointed to uninitialized memory (see https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=65252).

Note that Tenable Network Security has extracted the preceding description block directly from the Fedora security advisory. Tenable has attempted to automatically clean and format it as much as possible without introducing additional issues.

Solution

Update the affected libXv package.
