New! Vulnerability Priority Rating (VPR)
Tenable calculates a dynamic VPR for every vulnerability. VPR combines vulnerability information with threat intelligence and machine learning algorithms to predict which vulnerabilities are most likely to be exploited in attacks. Read more about what VPR is and how it's different from CVSS.

SynopsisThe remote Red Hat host is missing one or more security updates.
DescriptionUpdated gnutls packages that fix one security issue are now available for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 and 6.
The Red Hat Security Response Team has rated this update as having important security impact. A Common Vulnerability Scoring System (CVSS) base score, which gives a detailed severity rating, is available from the CVE link in the References section.
The GnuTLS library provides support for cryptographic algorithms and for protocols such as Transport Layer Security (TLS).
It was discovered that the fix for the CVE-2013-1619 issue released via RHSA-2013:0588 introduced a regression in the way GnuTLS decrypted TLS/SSL encrypted records when CBC-mode cipher suites were used. A remote attacker could possibly use this flaw to crash a server or client application that uses GnuTLS. (CVE-2013-2116)
Users of GnuTLS are advised to upgrade to these updated packages, which correct this issue. For the update to take effect, all applications linked to the GnuTLS library must be restarted.
SolutionUpdate the affected packages.
