New! Vulnerability Priority Rating (VPR)
Tenable calculates a dynamic VPR for every vulnerability. VPR combines vulnerability information with threat intelligence and machine learning algorithms to predict which vulnerabilities are most likely to be exploited in attacks. Read more about what VPR is and how it's different from CVSS.

SynopsisThe remote Ubuntu host is missing one or more security-related patches.
DescriptionNadhem Alfardan and Kenny Paterson discovered that the TLS protocol as used in GnuTLS was vulnerable to a timing side-channel attack known as the 'Lucky Thirteen' issue. A remote attacker could use this issue to perform plaintext-recovery attacks via analysis of timing data.
Note that Tenable Network Security has extracted the preceding description block directly from the Ubuntu security advisory. Tenable has attempted to automatically clean and format it as much as possible without introducing additional issues.
SolutionUpdate the affected libgnutls13 and / or libgnutls26 packages.
