Ubuntu 10.04 LTS : openoffice.org vulnerability (USN-1537-1)

High Nessus Plugin ID 61526

The remote Ubuntu host is missing a security-related patch.

It was discovered that OpenOffice.org incorrectly handled certain encryption tags in Open Document Text (.odt) files. If a user were tricked into opening a specially crafted file, an attacker could cause OpenOffice.org to crash or possibly execute arbitrary code with the privileges of the user invoking the program.

Note that Tenable Network Security has extracted the preceding description block directly from the Ubuntu security advisory. Tenable has attempted to automatically clean and format it as much as possible without introducing additional issues.

Update the affected openoffice.org-core package.
