New! Plugin Severity Now Using CVSS v3

The calculated severity for Plugins has been updated to use CVSS v3 by default. Plugins that do not have a CVSS v3 score will fall back to CVSS v2 for calculating severity. Severity display preferences can be toggled in the settings dropdown.

Synopsis

The remote Scientific Linux host is missing a security update.

Description

Several flaws were found in the processing of malformed HTML content.
HTML containing malicious content could cause Thunderbird to crash or, potentially, execute arbitrary code with the privileges of the user running Thunderbird. (CVE-2010-3767, CVE-2010-3772, CVE-2010-3776)

Note: JavaScript support is disabled by default in Thunderbird. The above issues are not exploitable unless JavaScript is enabled.

All running instances of Thunderbird must be restarted for the update to take effect.

Solution

Update the affected thunderbird package.
