Debian DSA-2490-1 : nss - denial of service

medium Nessus Plugin ID 59768
New! Plugin Severity Now Using CVSS v3

The calculated severity for Plugins has been updated to use CVSS v3 by default. Plugins that do not have a CVSS v3 score will fall back to CVSS v2 for calculating severity. Severity display preferences can be toggled in the settings dropdown.

The remote Debian host is missing a security-related update.

Kaspar Brand discovered that Mozilla's Network Security Services (NSS) libraries did insufficient length checking in the QuickDER decoder, allowing to crash a program using the libraries.

Upgrade the nss packages.

For the stable distribution (squeeze), this problem has been fixed in version 3.12.8-1+squeeze5.
