Synopsis

The remote Red Hat host is missing a security update for openssl.

Description

The remote Redhat Enterprise Linux 5 / 6 host has packages installed that are affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the RHSA-2012:0518 advisory.

- openssl: asn1_d2i_read_bio integer errors leading to buffer overflow (CVE-2012-2110)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the RHEL openssl package based on the guidance in RHSA-2012:0518.
