Synopsis

The remote Red Hat host is missing a security update for systemtap.

Description

The remote Redhat Enterprise Linux 5 / 6 host has packages installed that are affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the RHSA-2012:0376 advisory.

 - systemtap: kernel panic when processing malformed DWARF unwind data (CVE-2012-0875)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the RHEL systemtap package based on the guidance in RHSA-2012:0376.
