Ubuntu 11.04 : apt vulnerability (USN-1169-1)

Medium Nessus Plugin ID 55592

The remote Ubuntu host is missing a security-related patch.

William Grant discovered that APT incorrectly validated inline GPG signatures. If a remote attacker were able to perform a man-in-the-middle attack, this flaw could potentially be used to install altered packages.

Note that Tenable Network Security has extracted the preceding description block directly from the Ubuntu security advisory. Tenable has attempted to automatically clean and format it as much as possible without introducing additional issues.

Update the affected apt package.
