MS11-055: Vulnerability in Microsoft Visio Could Allow Remote Code Execution (2560847)

high Nessus Plugin ID 55571
New! Vulnerability Priority Rating (VPR)

Tenable calculates a dynamic VPR for every vulnerability. VPR combines vulnerability information with threat intelligence and machine learning algorithms to predict which vulnerabilities are most likely to be exploited in attacks. Read more about what VPR is and how it is different from CVSS.

VPR Score: 7.4

Arbitrary code can be executed on the remote Windows host through Visio.

The remote host contains a version of Microsoft Visio that is affected by an insecure library loading vulnerability.

A remote attacker could exploit this by tricking a user into opening a specially crafted Microsoft Visio file, resulting in arbitrary code execution.

Microsoft has released a patch for Visio 2003.
