FTP Service AUTH TLS Plaintext Command Injection

medium Nessus Plugin ID 53847
New! Plugin Severity Now Using CVSS v3

The calculated severity for Plugins has been updated to use CVSS v3 by default. Plugins that do not have a CVSS v3 score will fall back to CVSS v2 for calculating severity. Severity display preferences can be toggled in the settings dropdown.

The remote FTP server allows plaintext command injection while negotiating an encrypted communications channel.

The remote FTP server contains a software flaw in its AUTH TLS implementation that could allow a remote, unauthenticated attacker to inject commands during the plaintext protocol phase that will be executed during the ciphertext protocol phase.

Successful exploitation could permit an attacker to modify files on the FTP server and reveal a user's credentials.
