Synopsis

The remote Red Hat host is missing a security update for samba.

Description

The remote Redhat Enterprise Linux 4 / 5 / 6 host has packages installed that are affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the RHSA-2011:0305 advisory.

 - Samba unsafe fd_set usage (CVE-2011-0719)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the RHEL samba package based on the guidance in RHSA-2011:0305.
