An application installed on the remote Mac OS X host is affected by a remote code execution vulnerability.

Description

The remote Mac OS X host is running a version of Microsoft Office 2004 for Mac that is affected by a memory corruption vulnerability.

If an attacker can trick a user on the affected host into opening a specially crafted Word file, these issues could be leveraged to execute arbitrary code subject to the user's privileges.

Solution

Microsoft has released a patch for Office 2004 for Mac.
