Debian DSA-2021-1 : spamass-milter - missing input sanitization

high Nessus Plugin ID 45134

New! Plugin Severity Now Using CVSS v3

The calculated severity for Plugins has been updated to use CVSS v3 by default. Plugins that do not have a CVSS v3 score will fall back to CVSS v2 for calculating severity. Severity display preferences can be toggled in the settings dropdown.

The remote Debian host is missing a security-related update.

A missing input sanitization in spamass-milter, a milter used to filter mail through spamassassin, was discovered. This allows a remote attacker to inject and execute arbitrary shell commands.

Upgrade the spamass-milter package.

For the stable distribution (lenny), this problem has been fixed in version 0.3.1-8+lenny1.
