medium Nessus Plugin ID 42091
New! Plugin Severity Now Using CVSS v3

The calculated severity for Plugins has been updated to use CVSS v3 by default. Plugins that do not have a CVSS v3 score will fall back to CVSS v2 for calculating severity. Severity display preferences can be toggled in the settings dropdown.

The remote Mandriva Linux host is missing a security update.

A vulnerability has been found and corrected in sympa : in sympa 5.3.4 allows local users to overwrite arbitrary files via a symlink attack on a temporary file. NOTE: wwsympa.fcgi was also reported, but the issue occurred in a dead function, so it is not a vulnerability (CVE-2008-4476).

This update fixes this vulnerability.

Update the affected sympa package.
