Synopsis
The remote Ubuntu host is missing a security-related patch.Description
It was discovered that BackupPC did not restrict normal users from setting the ClientNameAlias parameter. An authenticated user could exploit this to gain access to unauthorized hosts. This update fixed the issue by preventing normal users from modifying the ClientNameAlias configuration parameter.Note that Tenable Network Security has extracted the preceding description block directly from the Ubuntu security advisory. Tenable has attempted to automatically clean and format it as much as possible without introducing additional issues.
