Synopsis

The remote HPE Aruba Networking Virtual Intranet Access (VIA) Client is affected by multiple vulnerabilities.

Description

The version of HPE Aruba Networking Virtual Intranet Access (VIA) Client installed on the remote host is prior to 4.7.9. It is, therefore, affected by multiple vulnerabilities as referenced in the hpesbnw05173 advisory, including the following:

 - An improper certificate validation vulnerability exists in HPE Networking Virtual Intranet Access (VIA).
 Successful exploitation could allow an unauthenticated remote attacker to bypass authentication.
 (CVE-2026-95724)

 - A command injection vulnerability exists in HPE Networking VIA. Successful exploitation could allow an authenticated administrative user to execute arbitrary commands with elevated privileges. (CVE-2026-95727)

 - A buffer overflow vulnerability in HPE Networking VIA could allow an unauthenticated remote attacker to conduct a denial of service attack. Successful exploitation could allow an attacker to interrupt the normal operation of the affected client. (CVE-2026-95726)

CVE-2026-95725 and CVE-2026-95728 affect only the VIA client for Linux.

Note that Nessus has not tested for these issues but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to HPE Aruba Networking Virtual Intranet Access (VIA) Client version 4.7.9 or later.
