Synopsis

A Python library installed on the remote host is affected by an information disclosure vulnerability.

Description

The detected version of the Django Python package is 6.0.x prior to 6.0.10, or 6.1.x prior to 6.1.3. It is, therefore, affected by an information disclosure vulnerability as referenced by the security release advisory:

 - The django.contrib.admin.utils.display_for_field() function did not obfuscate the password field of user models other than AUTH_USER_MODEL, or of an AUTH_USER_MODEL inheriting its password field from a concrete parent model through multi-table inheritance, which allows authenticated staff users with only the view permission on such a model to obtain full password hashes via the read-only change form. (CVE-2026-113733)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to Django version 6.0.10, 6.1.3 or later.
