EulerOS 2.0 SP12 : nmap (EulerOS-SA-2026-4503)

medium Nessus Plugin ID 376860

Synopsis

The remote EulerOS host is missing a security update.

Description

According to the versions of the nmap packages installed, the EulerOS installation on the remote host is affected by the following vulnerabilities :

Nmap versions up to and including 7.99 contains a denial of service vulnerability that allows remote attackers to crash the application by sending a crafted packet containing a zero-length TCP option. The malformed packet forces the Packet:parse_options() function in nselib/packet.lua to allocate objects in an infinite loop, causing an out-of-memory condition that results in application crash.(CVE-2026-72712)

Tenable has extracted the preceding description block directly from the EulerOS nmap security advisory.

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected nmap packages.
