Kibana 9.0.x < 9.4.9 / 9.5.x < 9.5.6 Incorrect Authorization (ESA-2026-206)

medium Nessus Plugin ID 375657

Synopsis

The remote host is affected by an incorrect authorization vulnerability.

Description

The version of Kibana installed on the remote host is 9.0.x prior to 9.4.9, or 9.5.x prior to 9.5.6. It is, therefore, affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the ESA-2026-206 advisory.

- Authorization Bypass Through User-Controlled Key (CWE-639) in Kibana can lead to information disclosure via Accessing Functionality Not Properly Constrained by ACLs (CAPEC-1). An authenticated user with read access to connectors in one Kibana space can retrieve connector execution log information from other spaces that they are not authorized to access. The disclosed information includes connector names and identifiers, execution status, timestamps, error messages, and aggregated execution statistics.
(CVE-2026-115295)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to Kibana version 9.4.9, or 9.5.6 or later as appropriate for your release branch.
