Synopsis

The Rocky Linux host is missing one or more security updates.

Description

The Rocky Linux 9.6 host has packages installed that are affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the TuxCare ALMALINUX9.6:CLSA-2026:1793280119 advisory.

- A flaw was found in SSSD. In trust-enabled identity management environments, SSSD evaluates Host-Based Access Control (HBAC) rules by stripping domain qualifiers and comparing only short usernames. An authenticated user in a trusted domain who shares the same username as an authorized local account can bypass access policies and gain unauthorized access to protected services or hosts. (CVE-2026-104048)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected packages based on the guidance in TuxCare advisory ALMALINUX9.6:CLSA-2026:1793280119.
