Synopsis

A hybrid cloud platform on the remote host is affected by a remote code execution vulnerability.

Description

The version of VMware Cloud Foundation SDDC Manager installed on the remote host is 5.2.x, 9.0.x, 9.1.0, or 9.1.1.
It is, therefore, affected by a remote code execution vulnerability in the Brotli decoder of its Node.js component as referenced in the VMSA-2026-0008 advisory:

- A buffer overflow vulnerability in the Brotli decoder (c/dec/decode.c) in Google Brotli versions 1.0.3 through 1.2.0 on all platforms allows a remote unauthenticated attacker to corrupt adjacent decoder state memory, disclose sensitive memory contents, cause a denial of service, or potentially execute arbitrary code using a crafted Brotli-compressed stream. (CVE-2026-111497)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

No patch is currently available. Apply the workaround described in VMware KB460732 (SDDC Manager 9.1.1) or KB460734 (SDDC Manager 5.2.x, 9.0.x, and 9.1.0).
