Synopsis

The remote Windows host contains a Dell SupportAssist OS Recovery install that is affected by multiple vulnerabilities.

Description

Dell SupportAssist OS Recovery is installed on the remote Windows host. It is, therefore, affected by multiple vulnerabilities as referenced in the DSA-2026-426 advisory.

 - Insufficient Verification of Data Authenticity. An unauthenticated attacker with adjacent network access could bypass manifest signature validation, potentially leading to execution of unauthorized code with elevated privileges. (CVE-2026-82150)

 - Improper Authorization. A low-privileged attacker with local access could potentially exploit this vulnerability, leading to Elevation of Privilege. (CVE-2026-82143)

 - Untrusted Search Path. A low-privileged attacker with local access could potentially exploit this vulnerability, leading to Elevation of Privilege. (CVE-2026-82146)

Note that Nessus has not tested for these issues but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update Dell SupportAssist OS Recovery to version 5.5.16.3 or later.
