medium Nessus Plugin ID 370481

Synopsis

A server virtualization platform installed on the remote host is affected by a page reference leak vulnerability.

Description

The version of Citrix XenServer installed on the remote host is 8.4.x. It is, therefore, affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the CTX697170 advisory:

- The grant table cache-flush error path fails to drop a page reference, which may allow a privileged user in a guest VM to compromise or crash the host. (CVE-2026-102700)

According to the advisory, this issue affects XenServer 8.4 only.

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number. The vendor delivers this update through the XenServer update channels without changing the reported product version, so Nessus cannot determine whether the update has been applied.

Solution

Apply the latest updates from the Early Access or Normal update channel of XenServer 8.4 as described in the vendor advisory.
