Fedora 43 : perl-Net-IDN-Encode (2026-4aec7019eb)

critical Nessus Plugin ID 369380

Language:

Synopsis

The remote Fedora host is missing one or more security updates.

Description

The remote Fedora 43 host has a package installed that is affected by multiple vulnerabilities as referenced in the FEDORA-2026-4aec7019eb advisory.

Net::IDN::Punycode versions before 2.590 for Perl allow an out-of-bounds read via integer overflow of the delta accumulator in encode_punycode. This also leak the output buffer on every rejected label in decode_punycode.

This update fixes both issues (and others).

Tenable has extracted the preceding description block directly from the Fedora security advisory.

Note that Nessus has not tested for these issues but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected perl-Net-IDN-Encode package.
