Description

The Windows 'HEVC Video Extensions for Licensed Applications' app installed on the remote host is prior to 2.4.85.0. It is, therefore, affected by a remote code execution vulnerability. Exploitation of the vulnerability requires that a user open a specially crafted file from the attacker.

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade the Windows 'HEVC Video Extensions for Licensed Applications' app to version 2.4.85.0 or later via the Microsoft Store.
