Description

The Microsoft Word Products are missing security updates. It is, therefore, affected by multiple vulnerabilities:

 - Heap-based buffer overflow in Microsoft Office Word allows an unauthorized attacker to execute code over a network. (CVE-2026-70268, CVE-2026-70287, CVE-2026-70301, CVE-2026-70302, CVE-2026-88186, CVE-2026-88202)

 - Stack-based buffer overflow in Microsoft Office Word allows an unauthorized attacker to execute code over a network. (CVE-2026-83891)

 - Use of uninitialized resource in Microsoft Office Word allows an unauthorized attacker to execute code over a network. (CVE-2026-88150)

 - Heap-based buffer overflow in Microsoft Office Word allows an unauthorized attacker to execute code locally. (CVE-2026-70220)

 - Stack-based buffer overflow in Microsoft Office Word allows an authorized attacker to elevate privileges locally. (CVE-2026-96995)

 - Out-of-bounds read in Microsoft Office Word allows an unauthorized attacker to disclose information over a network. (CVE-2026-70206, CVE-2026-70263)

 - Buffer over-read in Microsoft Office Word allows an unauthorized attacker to disclose information over a network. (CVE-2026-88167)

Solution

Microsoft has released patches to address these issues.

For Office 365, Office 2016 C2R, or Office 2019, ensure automatic updates are enabled or open any office app and manually perform an update.
