high Nessus Plugin ID 365413

Synopsis

The remote Ubuntu host is missing a security update.

Description

The remote Ubuntu 24.04 LTS host has packages installed that are affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the USN-8670-1 advisory.

Joshua Rogers discovered that curl incorrectly handled reusing connections when client certificate settings changed. This could result in the wrong client certificates being used, contrary to expectations.

Tenable has extracted the preceding description block directly from the Ubuntu security advisory.

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected curl, libcurl3t64-gnutls and / or libcurl4t64 packages.
