Linux Distros Unpatched Vulnerability : CVE-2026-107677

medium Nessus Plugin ID 364411

Synopsis

The Linux/Unix host has one or more packages installed with a vulnerability that the vendor indicates will not be patched.

Description

The Linux/Unix host has one or more packages installed that are impacted by a vulnerability without a vendor supplied patch available.

- FFmpeg through 9.0.2 contains a denial of service vulnerability in the DASH demuxer that allows attackers to trigger an infinite loop by supplying an empty SegmentTemplate media URL. Attackers can craft an .mpd manifest declaring SegmentTemplate media= so get_current_fragment() calls av_strireplace() with an empty search string, consuming CPU indefinitely. (CVE-2026-107677)

Note that Nessus relies on the presence of the package as reported by the vendor.

Solution

There is no known solution at this time.
